When a tooth has a large filling or cavity or after it has had a root canal treatment carried out, it is recommended to protect the tooth by placing a crown. A crown is like a hat for a tooth. It covers the entire tooth on all sides and on top so that it is protected against breaking and it is made stronger. Under NHS dental treatment it is only possible to have a silver or gold crown placed on your back teeth. These are very durable and can last for a long time but they simply do not look nice. It is very easy to put a white filling in a tooth or make a white crown to cover a tooth but it is not easy to make it look natural. At Complete Dental Care we take great pride in helping people improve their smile. In the pictures below you can see some of our work which shows old white crowns being changed for new metal free crowns. The pictures also show a couple of white fillings that we have placed and also 2 porcelain e-max inlays that we have placed and will discuss in another blog.
For our cosmetic crowns we make them completely metal free. Each crown is hand crafted by a skilled technician so that it is a custom fit to only your tooth. Our crowns are designed to look natural and mimic your own teeth.
